  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

That would mean the battery’s full charge is good for about 187.5 miles and the Harvester is therefore providing 312.5 miles of energy over the 500 mile drive. That’s 62% of energy used. If so, the Havester would need to put out something like a continuous 22000 watts. I think the Harvester has...

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

But the smaller the battery the bigger the Harvester needed to meet the estimates they gave. Batteries are very expensive. So a reduction of 15-20% might actually pay for a small engine. They showed us what they think the Harvester will look like. It’s a small engine, so the battery can’t be...

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

Based on the little information we have I’m thinking the following: In order to get the full 500 Harvester miles you will need to get the Harvester running almost right away. Otherwise, under normal circumstances the Harvester kicks in after about 150 EV only miles. In order to harmonize all...

Direct Sales - Dealership can stay mad!

Members of this forum pushed for direct sales. Scout listened! It was the right decision. Thank you Scout!

    SUV Reveal questions-pregame

The mirrors don’t look like they stick out in the dimension drawing because it uses perspective but the mirrors do project out The 91.6 in measurement might be the correct width with the mirrors. For comparison The Rivian R1S is 82 in wide with mirrors folded. 79 in without mirrors and 87.1 in...

So, how many reservations so far?

The form just exploded with activity! I don’t want to miss posts from the early members I’ve got to know over the past couple years, so I just followed a bunch of y’all. Based on what was revealed, Scout was certainly listening to us during those early days. It sure feels like we each may have...

    Gas Powered Range Extender

I see Jamie confirmed in another thread that the Harvester version will have 150 miles of range when using just EV That’s suggests to me that the Harvester generator is going to be quite powerful, or else that the stated 500 miles requires significant breaks to stop and wait for the generator...

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

I think Rivian are doing the zonal system. This is the system that reduces the number of microchips/computerized control units. That’s the computer system that runs the vehicle. The in-car entertainment system is different. A friend of mine just traded in his R1S after a few months because he...

White and black top options for Traveler and Terra?

I think you got all the plaid you’re going to get. I think It’s in some rubber surfaces and the seat perforations.

    Audio system

Klipsch is a great American brand with a long and storied history. They also partner with car manufacturers to deliver excellent in-car audio. I think they’d be a great partner because they where making iconic speakers while IH where making iconic Scouts.

    Gas Powered Range Extender

I think several of the assumptions made in that video may be wrong. The Battery only version has 350 miles range. The Harvester version has a total of 500+ miles but how much smaller is the battery? The Scout website says you can “go a couple hundred more” using the extender than with just...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

They announced “heated and vented” seats on slide at the event.

    Gas Powered Range Extender

The battery will be a bit smaller in the Harvester - that’s a weight saving. The generator is probably small. I don’t expect the Harvester to be any heavier than the full size battery version.. Someone at the event said someone from Scout indicated the Harvester version will be cheaper to...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

CarPlay (with option for the new CarPlay) and Android Auto support. These phone integrations give users choice and support thousands of apps some of which are made by individuals and small teams. Scout says that “community” is important. Supporting CarPlay means supporting small app development...

    Dimensions

Good point. Since there is some perspective the front view drawing should make the roof appear relatively low vs the width because the front of the vehicle is closer and the roof a bit further back. That means my earlier measurements and calculation of an 86.0 in width (based on the height to...

    Dimensions

I don’t think the width value is correct. I measured the height and width of the vehicle drawing precisely with calipers and found the width is 1.127 times the height. If the height measurement is correct at 76.3 the width is actually about 86.0 in (with mirrors because they do not project)...

List Your 10 Favorite Things About the New Scouts

My 10 Favorite Things 1) the Harvester - give me a smaller battery and the peace of mind and extra utility of a gas generator I'll really need a few times a year. 2) the tie-down anchors on the hood 3) the frunk slide out seat that that reveals a storage compartment below 4) real leather 5)...
