  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

I just don’t feel that would align with Scouts offroad focused design. And I certainly don’t see it replacing Harvester, since it’s entire point is to alleviate stress about going full EV and bridging the gap for people that aren’t ready yet.

Former Rivian R1S owner, almost twice. Can’t wait for the Scout

I had a lemon of a 2010 Tundra. Kind of f😐cked my life up for a minute since I bought it new to be my mobile service truck for my contracting mechanic business. Sometimes when I started it all the lights would come on in the dash, AC didn’t work, windows and door locks didn’t work, (radio...

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

VW has been dumping money into some of that tech through Quantumscape, but it does make me wonder that even if they did have the scalable tech today…. would they even make it available for all of their brands, or would they reserve it for their their premium brands like Audi, Porsche...

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

Greetings! that interview has caused a lot of grief and headaches for Scout Motors. If you use the search function you’ll find many threads about this exact concern. @Jamie@ScoutMotors has had to gently remind us several times that Scout is aware of customer’s demands and NONE OF THE...

    Great little vehicle

A few friends of mine had an Element and they went out camping and kayaking in that thing more than any of the Overlanding folks I know. It’s a really fun and practical little car. I really hope Scout can take off with enough demand for them to broaden their lineup with a long boi like the...

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

That would be interesting, but maybe would require some more energy dense batteries? There is only so much physical space for more battery, and you would probably need to beef up the frame, suspension, axles, etc. to accommodate the additional mass if you are trying to add a meaningful amount...

    Rivian CEO Interview

To be fair, you bought them twice. Lol But your experience is ridiculous. Nobody should have those kinds of issues twice from a manufacturer. You’d think they would have had someone look that new unit over after your last experience.

Former Rivian R1S owner, almost twice. Can’t wait for the Scout

Welcome. I think Scouts Community UX may use the same underpinnings as Rivian’s base level operating system, but it will still be Scout’s software on top and supported by them. Details are still sparse but I would encourage you to use the search function and read about software and what has...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Damn that’s a great point. Another reason to go full BEV 😉 It would be amazing offroad with that low COG too.

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

No worries, I just have very strong feelings about air suspension  There are multichamber air springs/struts but they are quite rare on passenger vehicles. I think Porsche and Hyundai have offered them in the past. They may mellow or firm up the ride a bit but the compression and rebound...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

I cant even imagine going from an IRS/IFS vehicle with air ride to a solid axle on coils or leafs. The Rivian has probably ruined you for life!

Very cool system. Basically a hydraulic swaybar system that is controlled independently at each wheel and no physical swaybar involved.

Solid axle vehicles can have air ride suspension. Did you mean compared to traditional coil springs?

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

The strut is air over hydraulic, is it not? The ADS system adjusts the flow of the hydraulic fluid which controls rebound and dampening if I am reading this correctly. https://www.fcpeuro.com/blog/the-definitive-guide-to-the-mercedes-benz-airmatic-suspension-system?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Air ride is optional. It is not standard on the Off Road Package. They only mention special shock tuning for that package. Also keep in mind that those high end systems like Kings, Icons, etc require being rebuilt every 1,000-5,000 miles if the vehicle is really being pushed hard offroad...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Increasing the pressure on a bag lifts the vehicle and dropping pressure lowers it. Dampening is not controlled by this action. Air systems on SUVs and Pickups usually consists of a rear air bag in place of the rear coil springs. And they work by having leveling arms on each side of the axle...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

This doesnt sound right to me. Air bags are springs. Springs lift and level. Struts/Shocks control the firmness of the ride.
