  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

Thanks for the info. With so much things undecided, I'll try to downsizing on only the official forum for now. Just so I don't get too excited and disappointed more like what Tesla did to the CyberTruck.

Well, if that's the case, some of us would just take our $100 back, no biggies. Did that with Cybertruck and Ioniq 5, nothing crazy. EV is still a toy for me, I got 2 2024 vehicles to drive around and beyond 2027.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

We still do not know how big battery this pure BEV scout would be. Those 35s KO3 are not energy efficient at all. 2mi/kwh is what could be expected. 350mi without considering energy lost would need 175kwh battery. So 200kwh might be what's needed for BEV? Considering gas tank will take up some...

💯 Correct. You need a balance between enough power and NVH/efficiency/packaging

It doesn't need to detune. All it needs is to not giving the full gas and revs too high. If you have seen dyno machine you'll know that when testing ICE vehicle, it's always testing full gas (pedal to metal) to give the top output. Say a 300hp engine you'll probably only use 100hp on daily...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Just to clarify. In your math, assuming 2mi/kwh which I think is reasonable, 500 mi for full battery would require 250kwh if it is BEV. Correct. Were you referring that REE will provide equal to 175kwh energy to deliver 500 mi? If so, that means a 175kw engine need to run for 1 hour, full gas...

    KW•H, not KW/H. 2 different math calculations

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

You are mixing kw and kwh. What you said most like mi/kw, should be mi/kwh. Kw and kwh are 2 totally different things. Kw is power output at a certain point of time, and kwh is how much energy it stored, or used over certain time.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

I doubt 10kw is enough to trickle a 20% or less battery, unless you want the engine run all the time which defy the purpose of EV: a clean and quiet ride.

Thank you Jamie. 1 thing I think that's important but many EV companies haven't figured out is how to smoothly deliver large torque for off-road. Electric motor, by nature, delivers max torque as speed 0 rpm. So other than trying to increase the torque at slow speed like in ICE vehicles, the...

Tesla? Did you mean CT? It's not range extender, it's just an extra battery pack in bed

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

10kw is usually running power for house generator and it's way less than needed for EV, and size is too big

I kinda get it. Basically he was saying other than charging battery, to have separate bypass cable to drive electric motors directly from the power that RE generated. But I assume that will significantly complex the design. I'm not an engineer but just a thought 🤔

Like that boost button on Ioniq 5N?😆

They are not the first in REEV. China has already had mature REEV products from various brands. Even ram uses technology from Chinese Leap Motors.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

No matter what they do, I think the key factor to consider is the user experience. It shouldn't force you to slow down from highway speed when needed due to the SOC of battery, while still having gas in tank. From the launch event, I think scout has mentioned about user experience several...

You think I'm stupid not knowing that? Read my replies above. I've been driving BEV for some years and I know exactly how EV performed

Your name is ID EnG so I don't know if you own ID 4 or work on them. Ever seen one going in the turtle mode? And if you know ID, there's a power bar on display. It shortened as battery SOC drops. Your performance is definitely degrading, not as you said, "performance remains the same". And it's...
