  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

I think the EREV Terra will be able to beat the EREV Traveler, so I would wait until that is specifically characterized. Because the 2k drop that we now know in the Traveler should only result in a ~7k towing for the Terra. But again we just need to have a definitive engineering answer, rather...

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Honestly the current spec of the Traveler mule they have (minus the cabana top) is exactly what I want (unless the other colors are gorgeous)

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Honestly apart from the towing (which is slightly sad, but at the same time....my desire to tow a trailer is hypothetical right now) I am happy with the news. A 15 Gal tank means that the harvester will only need to hit 23-24mpg to achieve the 350 mile range (Which sounds super doable). Air...

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

I mean maybe that helps make the harvester a somewhat cheaper option as well? Less Towing capability? Or if not a cheaper option then a less expensive add on.

Please, No Free Fast Charging Credits

Probably a free level 2 home charger for me. Granted with the harvester I will essentially never need to fill up with gas or use any other charger for my normal driving during the week. For long road trips I would just make sure that I am topped off from the night before with charge and gas, and...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Might be niche, but if they could actually detail the dimensions of the rail (on the dashboard) and any "Molle panels" that they add would be great so I can 3D print accessories for them.

South Carolina Scouts! Your voice is heard: Direct sales bill gets a hearing on Wednesday!

FYI we did shutdown some lines for most of 2024 lol and 787 Dreamliner is one of the safest planes on the planet (0 hull loss incidents) starliner isn’t a plane and is just over budget by a ton while still in development) shout out fixed-price contracts) and the 777 is one of the safest...

I just got a notification on LinkedIn that they have opened internships for summer 2025.

Scouting the Road Ahead With Scout Motors President and CEO Scott Keogh

Might be the odd man out here but I for one am happy that this is not going to be getting a stupid 0-60 time. 4.5s is already a crazy fast time for a SUV that is roughly tahoe size.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

At the moment the best thing that can be done on our (America's) end for your base level tech's and Manufacturing is to continue paying them well and making sure that they STAY with the company for a while. If you don't pay me more then Wendy's AND I have to crawl around with a loud ass rivet...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

We can and do! A lot of large American Manufactures (think 100k+ employees like my own company) have pretty agile and well funded AI teams. The real problem is that right now (at least for processes that are certified, have robust specifications, and large guide-rails...like cars and planes for...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

They are, a sizable portion of my battery focused coworkers are entertaining offers from American OEMs to play catchup. Unfortunately it just takes millions to hire enough engineers and then billions to make tooling over a short run to play catchup up. I do not envy the supply chain...

    Harvester Maintenance

I would be a big fan that, it also gets a fantastic L/100km and would lead to a really efficient powertrain. If its the same engine I am thinking of its worst rated fuel consumption is 5.2l/100km or about 45mpg. If we can get even half of that with our 33"-35" tires on our bricks then I would...

    DROPDOWN REAR WINDOW

Dam. Still, having the split tailgate will be a nice improvement and at the end of the day some things are going to be dropped.

    DROPDOWN REAR WINDOW

I believe the Travler has a “swing up” rear window in addition to the split gate (I think that term is wrong for that but hopefully it makes sense)

Did Your City Receive 2025 Grant Funds To Build Charging and Refueling Infrastructure?

If you read through that list a lot of these locations are at municipally-owned locations like "parks, community centers, a library, City Hall, the Police Department, and several downtown core parking locations" or at shared locations like retail, multi-family properties (hello charging at home...

What are you driving until release?

I am driving around the MIGHTY 2023 Mazda CX-50 (annd my girlfriend has a crosstour) until the Traveller makes its way home. Right now the plan is for the Mazda to become my girlfriends and become the secondary car (I do 99.99%) of the driving.

    Front storage?

With all current information the frunk will be with both Harvester and EV models. With the actual harvester itself located behind the batteries towards the rear axle, with the gas tank in front.
