  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

Another good example in a live test. Long video but through towns and highways in Europe. I’ve driven it with my cousin in Germany. It’s great!

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

Someone asked about how ADBs function in the city or with Pedestrians. This video gives an example and mentions that 70% of pedestrian fatalities happen at night. Where I live in NE Ohio, we frequently travel on ‘Riverview Road’ which goes through a National park, is semi rural at 45 MPH with...

    Optional PIN to Drive Feature

Also, different PIN’s for my young Daughters and Wife vs Son in Law or Brother in Law. Lets me know who borrowed it when and I could separate their use from mine for tracking issues or performance or lock out features from my oldest daughter who is Mario Andretti reincarnated, no matter what...

    Optional PIN to Drive Feature

Just please make it a consistent pin Rivian has added a feature that can be enabled to add a rolling pin, like an Authenticator App. Trouble is, if you are in a remote area with poor connectivity, or lose your phone or break it or battery dies, you can’t get a changing pin sent to you to...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I knew Ford had this is Europe but didn’t realize it was in the lightning here in the US. Ford is not doing a good job of marketing it as a feature in the US. How to ‘activate it’ is all over the forums, now that I search for it. Not activated by default. Might confuse American drivers and...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I agree this technology is expensive but I feel my life, my Wife’s and my Grand Daughter’s life as well as the Lives of the other driver’s and their Family’s are worth it. Regardless of the cost. I’ve read replacing it is very expensive. I hope Scout is listening!

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

Adaptive Driving Beams are a technology the rest of the world has enjoyed for over a decade and only made legal in the US in the last 3 years. per the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) 54% of driving deaths occur at night while only 25% of driving occurs at night. I'm an...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I completely agree with you. I'm concerned the seats won't be supportive or large enough. When Kyle Conner OOS vids show the seat backs too short, it worries me. I can't believe no one but Tesla Includes quality Dashcam and Sentry Mode features as well as remote connectivity and cloud storage...

    Rethink Steering Wheel Design?

I’d be fine with it on the Dashboard. Behind or in front of the rail. I’m looking forward to using the rail system with USB C ports. I just think the overhead space is a premium and hunting for sunglasses while damaging them in the center console makes no sense.

    Rethink Steering Wheel Design?

I suppose if my Watch, iPhone, Secondary Android and the truck itself are dead and I'm lost and can't look up at the Sun to figure out which way is East or West or North or South, then I'll be glad I have that Compass. Otherwise, everyone that gets in will say, "Oh, a Compass" and I'll complain...

    Rethink Steering Wheel Design?

Needs a HUD, Dashcams with Telephoto, external side cameras (like Rivian or Tesla) with HDR and 4K, Adaptive Driving Beams, and a sunglasses holder to replace the compass. Good Connectivity with Parking 'Sentry' mode and cloud storage as well as Dashcam Cloud Storage and remote storage and live...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Thank You! I appreciate it. I was aware of this step and handle. The GM steps help getting into the bed. These are great for accessing deep in the bed.

Apple CarPlay ULTRA for Scout: A Game Changer for Infotainment?

We have the same issue with CarPlay in my Wife’s Q5. Same ‘reset’ procedure you mention. On my older A5 Cab, I can unplug and plug it in and usually get it to ‘reset’. Other glitches are: Completely blank Apple CarPlay Frozen A-CP Or frozen screen/map of Waze but has audio. Spotify clearly...

Apple CarPlay ULTRA for Scout: A Game Changer for Infotainment?

Same here! I bought my first Apple IIe in the early 80's and the first Macintosh in 1984 (second year in College!) . I'm Apple everything and use Carplay in all my cars. Having said that, I like the 'backup' of the cars native OS since Carplay will glitch often. L

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'm dragging out some dead horses to beat them again: 1. Harvester Terra and/or Traveler with 8500 lbs towing. 2. Harvester T or T with 250 Electric Range. 3. Adaptive Driving Beams! 4. Rivian Like 4K always recording Dashcams with Cloud connectivity and recording with notifications. There...

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

The mix of screen and real knobs, switches and toggles. I still have to flesh it out and drive it and make sure it meets my needs. We’ll see.
