  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Delivery date

Sadly, I will be probably counting days starting with 2026... Saw an article bashing the Cybertruck's resale prices - started thinking, Cybertruck for the next 3 years. But the article was a bash piece with no real honesty.

    Camping with a Traveler/Terra

I kind of like the idea of the Moonlander - but not really the implementation. Looking more at the Traveler. Will build a sleeping platform for it-should have plenty of room to sleep inside. The Moonlander gets around the abbreviated bed length. But IF I ever do another overlanding pickup -...

    Scout Deal Breakers

For me it is following through, not bait and switch. 350 mile range, near intended price, 50 states vehicle. And a decent driver assist package I guess-it's not the 1970's anymore.

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

Original jeep was 55" wide with an 85" wheelbase. I think that is smaller than a Mini Cooper.

    Rivian Rs2 vs Scout Traveler

Rivian is slightly shorter, slightly narrower, and significantly shorter. But it has Rivian DNA in it's headlights-hard pass. I was going to say it looked more like a crossover than an SUV, but then looked at the R3-which is completely crossover.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

There very well may be limited introduction of new chemistries between now and 2028, but I seriously doubt it will be wide spread adoption. A few manufactures have said they will be making solid state batteries for cars this year, but even if they do - you have to assume it will be for test...

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

I think the tire ware issue is 2 fold. Weight might be part of it, but part is OEM tires that are specifically selected to help with efficiency numbers. Light weight tires might not last as long. I know even on some of my vehicles (not EV's), high performance tires tend to last a lot less...

    Bench Seat vs Standard

My old Ford had a 60/40 front bench, with the 20% center folding down to make a console (it lived folded down 95% of the time, and it always scared me to fold it up because the latch did not always hold). That console was slightly wider than my current Ford, but not nearly as deep (the deep...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

The Every1 has some of the same design problems that are were present on the protoype Buzz. Removing the seams between panels, and reducing the gaps between others make for a more streamline appearance - but they don't seem to follow over very well into production. I liked the look of the...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Kind of laughed a bit tonight - been getting hit with a ton of Hummer EV - push the button adds. I guess Scout and Hummer EV have a few things in common. The only thing - nothing about the Hummer pushes my buttons. They wanted to make it a rugged looking offroad vehicle - and all I see is a...

Scout Motors Debuts Unlimited Range EV With Perpetual Motion Harvester

Scout announces new partnership for a Mr. Fusion Harvester model.

Most Improbable or Impossible Scout Motors Special Edition?

Reaper might be a decent name for a SS battery EV version with a >500 mile range. It would kill the competition.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I had some a fairly long time ago for RC - but I don't know if they are the same thing that is being discussed now. I think it was mostly marketing, maybe a little graphine in the cathode or anode. RC batteries are a bit different than EV batteries. They are charged hard, run hard - and...

Accessories: not merch or accessories that are integrated into the car, but think seat covers, etc. What do we want?

I will be building a cargo shelf - with an extension to go over the rear seat to make a sleeping platform. I would not be opposed to get one pre-made if it was done better than I can do myself.

    Seats made for americans.

While I have found vehicle seats less and less comfortable to sit on - I assumed the problem was with my seat, not the vehicles. Americans need to exercise their seats more...

    Fun with energy use numbers

I've done a bit of research and played with the math in a few threads. I did not find much info on intermediate towing however. Most of the people doing test tows, want to push it to its max of 10k lbs. I don't recall those tests doing 80% to 20%, but more like 100% to 10%. Since most of...

How do you plan to kit out your interior?

It usually happens somewhat organically. I expect I will car camp/overland. Will probably build a platform in the to the extent the roof height allows (and I can still get in a pair of dog kennels). Will rig up the platform to fold forward to make a sleeping platform (odds are a folding...

    Harvester towing

We have tons of data from other EV Trucks that show about how many kw/h it takes to tow 10k lbs at highway speed. It is impressively terrible (my wild guess is it takes about 90kw per hour to tow 10k lbs). The Dodge Ram Charger is being designed to be able to tow - but it has a huge generator...

Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

When I was researching generators - I found most suggested service every 100 hours of use - and at least the one we settled on would go into limp mode at 200 hours (they would allow an extended service interval in case of emergency). If you throw 50mph on a car - 100/200hrs would be 5k or 10k...

Offer it with a gas motor

The main reason I would not be unhappy with Scout making an ICE vehicle is it would take more of the EV stigma out of it. One of the things I like about the Scout is it does not look like an EV. It would not hurt me one bit if people did not know I was driving an EV. I don't want one to...
