My first vehicle -- Searching for 1978 Scout II, 345ci, auto with wood grain sides. The interior was very nice with captain chairs, light brown interior with and carpet on the ceiling.

Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Our goal is to create the largest Scout Registry in the world. If you own a Scout vehicle, regardless of year or condition, we would love to see it.

    Just click on the "Add Vehicle" button and you can start the process. You can add a Title (your user name, model year, etc.), Brief Description (color name, model year, model) and a "Tell Us More About Your Scout:" where you can enter in your backstory, details about your Scout, modifications, restoration history, fun ownership stories and photos of your vehicle. You can also come back and modify or add to your registry entry at any time.

    Also, please upload photos if you have them. You can also embed the photos into your story that you create so that people can see larger versions.

Tell us about your Scout:

1978 Scout II, 345ci, automatic, captain chairs, brown interior, and carpet even on the ceiling. All the rims were factory chrome, even the spare.

This was my first vehicle, given to me by my parents. I didn't know what I had at the time. Sure, whenever I shut the door, I lost a rust chunk off the vehicle. And yes, it had its issues.

However, I wish I could undo the mistake of trading it. This occurred in 1990, in Mount Airy, NC, when I left for the service. Does anyone know someone who purchased a Scout II during this time frame? I'm just curious if it has survived...

Over the years, I have not seen a Scout II with the level of fancy factory finish with carpet on the ceiling. I assumed it was all original at the time. Does anyone have a story of a similar Scout II?
