Website updates

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I think I speak for most it’s nice to see pictures of nice pictures of ideas on social media pages but everything seems very outdated. People need some reassurance that things are moving along and a website that is stagnant is not helpful. The events page is stalled for showings as well. I get in the works but there have been many many let downs in the EV market as of let as we all know.
Very fair point. Gotta keep people………shiny object…….engaged

I’m not seeing any 16-bit/256-color sprites of Scouts that I can put on my Tripod website so it looks good in Netscape and Internet Explorer without any browser color issues.
I’m not well informed, but I thought WebKit (which most modern browsers are based on) got the graphics past those requirements?

This was not my best work.

I did notice earlier while bored and going down a rabbit hole of web browsing, as one may do during the day, that Slate has these dumb little icon things that you’re supposed to put on the dashboard of your $5 truck with some sort of cute name that looked not unlike dumb little sprites that were popular with the kids who used to make Geocities/Tripod/Angelfire websites back in the day, kind of (which is to say “my contemporaries” because that’s how I ended up in my previous career and I think it’s how like 90% of the people in my age group who ended up as web developers got started: making goofy Geocities websites about Dragonball Z or what have you and then parlayed it into a career). Or maybe it was just supposed to make you think of video game sprites because they know their customer base is people who don’t really want to spend money on cars because their money goes to their sick gaming rigs. That’s probably more likely. 😅

My bad!
I’m an old retired software guy that embedded a WebKit interface for a GUI on two products.
I stuck my nose in and I apologize…
Just how old guys can be!

Hopefully we get some updates soon and more clarification on the EREV and EV Terra truck. I want fully electric but sure hope it is not delayed even further like I am hearing.

Right. I also am aware though companies will remain silent as to not release information to soon and will sit on it. Not mad. It’s just business.

So….updates….still nothing and a majority of their events are nowhere near Ohio. I hope Scout takes off and is successful but the no updates on website or verbal announcements is concerning. Not everyone wants to see all the color schemes on social media that may or may not make it to production. Just my opinion but speak for others as well.

Out of curiosity-what are you wanting to see. They are building validation models so to me, they are making it work or they are struggling which I can’t imagine they would announce. The new build will be revealed this weekend and we are still getting monthly updates. Tell SM what you want to know but I think they are doing their best. They haven’t come to me either yet-my visits have been hours of travel but worth it. They only have two right now so hard to get it everywhere and I’m sure their demographic research tells them the best locations to maximize interest and sales

I would like to see website updates and haven’t seen any news announcements. Compared to others they seem behind in updates. This leads me to believe they are struggling. It’s nice to see new colors and designs to vehicles on instagram and such but that is getting stale when no new information is being presented. That should be in reverse order. They should be more informative leading people to believe they are making strides in right direction followed by new designs and models.

I hear you. Been on here since 2022 so sometimes the journey seems to drag on. Presumably you read the factory updates and seeing they are starting builds is a huge step. It’s difficult for them to show a lot if they are building them step by step and also not wanting to give away the various elements that are unique or patented. And I get it but Ford and Slate aren’t showing a whole lot weather at the moment. A lot of it has to do with keeping the secret sauce-secret

They're following the exact communication strategy they laid out 18 months ago, which will build over time, but not going to run around hosting a million events or saying things just to say them. If you listen carefully, they have been telling us there will be a lot more harvester information coming this Fall, timed to increased activity on the production line, where you'll start to see validation vehicles out and about that look like scouts.

So far, everything I've been told privately by Scout and that's been communicated here in the forums has come to fruition on schedule
