Scout Color Poll #1

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I believe it was said in a video that the two signature colors are reimaged from some originals. I am looking for it now.
They are Tahitian Red, the last Scout ever produced and then the blue is based on the first Scout truck. They were at Nats when my husband and I went. The first truck is the blue Scout to the left in the second picture

My question is since the color poll was posted in 2022, is Copper really Tahitian Red, they just didn’t call it Tahitian Red back in 2022.
I has been called Modern Tahitian in many postings. Still looking

That’s the story I heard several times as well. It’s “modern” Tahitian red

I made an observation today. I ran out for a client appointment today -2-1/2 miles. I saw 5 Broncos and 2 wranglers on the round trip. Half were suit colors then a sunset copper Jeep and two Broncos-one was the bright blue and other was heritage yellow (top off). Then there was dark green, black, gray and another gray. I realized while I don’t care for the Bronco in yellow with their white top and all the black elements (too yellow-needs to be more butter toned( @cyure knows it) with the top down it was the most memorable along with the sunset gold color on the wrangler. I’ve seen all the various Bronco colors multiple times but the “classic” colors are always the more memorable-even on the jeeps. that said I intentionally made note of the colors and while I want a bright, non suit colored Scout I’m realizing I don’t want a screaming color-more of a subtle tone of yellow, or blue or avocado green. Just like the modern Tahitian, I hope Scout offers colors but hope they are modern versions of the originals. It would help the Scouts stand out but still offer subtle, bold colors (which is an oxymoron-I guess). Every new brand has a red, a gray, a bright blue, etc.. nearly nobody has a Tahitian red, or modern avocado, butter yellow/tahitian sand, teal blue, mushroom, persimmon, etc…

I completely agree. At Nationals looking at the rows of vintage Scouts what struck me was all the colors. It was just so fun and unique. That’s what I’m looking for in my Scout. Fun and unique!

I have 78 scout ii I'm restoring hoping I can make these two a "matching" pair
That would be wonderful! At Nats they had the concepts in the front and then the first Scout truck behind the Terra and the last Scout Traveler behind the traveler and it was so cool seeing them with the old color and then the new take on that old color. If you are able to do that you have to post pictures!!

It is a reimagined version of the original.

If you go Tahitian red you’re probably pretty safe because I can’t imagine that color-or very similar won’t carry over to the production travelers. That is the color we all fell in love with so they basically need to offer it or very similar variation. I’d say that’s a safe bet
