  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Harvester towing

I have the same vehicle; black with the little red trim around. Fantastic truck. Love the V8. Transmission is great. Nothing else quite combines the off-road features, towing capacity, and livability-luxury. It does suck down gas.

    Harvester towing

Scout first said 7k tow rating for the SUV (similar to a V8 Jeep GC) and 10k for the truck (similar to mid-upper range on many modern 150/1500 gas trucks and similar to current EV trucks). A lot of us assumed those ratings would apply to the Harvesters. But now it seems more likely a Harvester...

    Harvester towing

Chalk me up as one of the folks who was very disappointed to hear about the likely 5k tow rating for Harvester versions. I use cases that require 6.5 to 7k, and more would be better. The Harvester seemed like a perfect way to extend EV towing range to something more usable, PLUS you get huge...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Extending that answer about “is there any way to make a Rivian coast like a gas car”, in a Rivian or a Tesla: no. In a ROBP-supporting vehicle (the traditional manufacturers generally): yes, you can make them coast like a car via menu settings, changing settings via paddles, or in some case...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

In a Rivian or a Tesla: no, there is no way to "make it coast like a gas car". To be complete/fair --- education and operator-practice with OPD-style driving makes the experience smooth for passengers such that they will get no more sick than they would be in any other car. And/or more use of...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

this isn't how regen-on-the-brake-pedal works, it is also infinitely adjustable based on your foot, it is just a different foot (or feet) the paddles don't "adjust regen", what the paddles do is allocate how much available regen is applied with right-pedal lift off, and how much regen is...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

This contention can just as easily be applied to EVs that support regen-on-brake-pedal where the user has regen-on-accerator-release set to the lowest setting (and in cases where that is how the car works and it can't be changed like some EVs and pretty much every hybrid until recently). No...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Thank you for the welcome! I should have said "ROAR-only" to clearly distinguish it from OPD. ROAR-only puts a name to the Tesla and Rivian approach of keeping the friction-braking and motor-regex systems separate to save engineering and costs - and with ROAR-only you get a pretty good OPD...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Have they announced / does anyone know if Scout will take the 'Toyota' approach of "Brake-by-wire / Regen on the brake pedal", or the 'Tesla' approach of "Regen when the accelerator is released"? Sorry arguably this is changing the OP topic slightly, but the approach chosen is relevant to...
