  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

Absolutely hate one pedal driving. Perfect system is regen tied to the brake pedal similar to the id.4. Let me coast.

    Modifications of Reservations

I wanted to see if Scout will allow modification of reservations in the future and if that would change your place in line. Release date is three years out so a lot can change in that time, ie have a need for a truck now, but life changes makes an suv more appealing in 2 years as example. Or...

    Please limit immediate resale.

Full agree here. I hate flipping as much as anyone, but if you buy something, you own it and at that point the manufacturer has no right to tell you what you can/can't do with it.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

Its a relatively new site that was formed by veteran Jalopnik staff leaving for greener pastures. Closer to what Jalopnik used to be before they hired a bunch of writers who don't even own cars.

What are you driving until release?

    Had 33k on the clock.

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

I'll be honest, aftermarket support isn't something I'm going to care for in particular, but I'm sure plenty will with this vehicle. What I want for customization is in the initial purchase having every option a la carte. Packages on new vehicles have gotten ridiculous, ie if you want to have a...

What are you driving until release?

That is exactly what I did. Got a 21 Pro S for $24,999, priced exactly to get the credit.

    Scout Color Poll #1

With as close to USC as this thing is being built, having it come in "Gamecock Garnet" would be a fun color option for the locals who support the home team.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

As someone with an id.4 i would like to see the Travel Assit feature make it over from VW. Its nice on my single file line no passing commute to just set it and let the car do most of the work. Not a deal breaker though. In terms of physical UX... please have the key fob be as small as...

What are you driving until release?

Currently own a '22 Volvo S60 T8 (PHEV) and a '21 VW id.4 (BEV). Plan is to replace the id.4 with a Scout Terra w/Harvester. The id.4 is not a bad car (besides being ugly as sin) but I bought it used and heavily depreciated with the plan to replace it in 2027, so the timing is perfect.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

Charlotte, NC here. Would love to do a factory pickup option. Little concerned about NCs dealer protection laws making the direct purchase from Scout impossible... but I have bought plenty of vehicles in SC.
