  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

I haven’t focused it that way and don’t have reference data for various hybrids. If you ran it as is, what it’s going to be most useful for is where you can charge (and gas up to some extent). What you could do is use it with a prompt like this (it won’t be precise at all – and let’s face it even...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

@Scoutons86 you might enjoy playing with the tool linked in this thread. EDIT: Ugh, I neglected to paste the link: Thread 'A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing' https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/a-fun-tool-to-compare-traveler-bev-vs-erev-routing.7450/

Exclusive: Hyundai Mobis in talks with Volkswagen-owned Scout on multibillion-dollar deal

Yeah, I read it the same way: It sounds like they're delivering the BSA (Battery System Assembly) which from my read is: - the Battery Pack: The actual energy storage component. - the Battery Management System (BMS): The computer/electronics that monitor the battery's health, temperature, and...

Factory Pick Up - Cost and what does it include?

I likely wouldn't pay anything extra for it. But factory/partner area (can't remember what it's called) would be cool (and that might even add-on sales for Scout & Partners). Regarding off-road, etc., I would not, because I would prioritize the things the buyer can't do on their own. I supposed...

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

100% agree. Sadly/luckily we have no Scout vehicles yet to feed real-world data yet 😃. That said, I think of it as expanding conceptual thinking rather than dictating a plan and which rig type.

Based on some feedback, I added POIs and air down/air up.

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

Based on your knowledge of the area, does it seem reasonably accurate?

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

I have thought about adding towing to this, but there may not be enough data yet to make it useful. Perhaps in the future. I don’t have a towing need, but I know it’s a big discussion.

Would love the see the routes you all care about.

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

We currently have deposits down for both the Traveler BEV and EREV (placed both before realizing it wasn't necessary). As we try to decide which configuration actually fits our use cases better, I put together a Gemini Gem to analyze specific routes. It breaks down the logistical differences...

    Engineered / Warrantied for…

Hi all. I’ve been thinking about 37/35/33” tires on the Scouts (either). While I know we’re a ways away, I’m wondering what the factory/warranty stance will be on the 35” and especially the 37”s. It’s clear the vehicle (from a wheel cutout standpoint) can handle 37”s. But from an engineeering...

Traveler vs. Terra - Targeted Technical Questions

    Agreed, temperature at any elevation.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I have reserved both (before I found out I didn’t need to and could make a change at order time). I really don’t want the Harvester. We currently have an EV and are very comfortable with it. The issue for me, is living in the Southwest (New Mexico) the charging stations are quite limited. For...

Traveler vs. Terra - Targeted Technical Questions

New here, been lurking. To the extent they can be answered now, interesting questions. The one question I think I know the answer to based on my EV experiences (I also live at altitude) is that you shouldn’t expect any change at altitude on power output (not talking grade, just elevation).
