  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

The look will be based on the vehicle. You have a 35 on your Jeep, but it came stock with a 32 or 33. Your tire looks oversized to the vehicle compared to stock, but barely so. I have a 35 on my Jeep and it came with a 31 stock, and that was the oversized Rubicon tire. A 35 inch tire on on older...

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

I just really hope that 33s don't look awkward after seeing these on 35s and 37s for years.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

People don't like to admit the fact that EVs are far heavier vehicles than their gas powered counterparts. The F150 as an example weighs 4000-5000 pounds while the Lightning starts at over 6000 pounds and goes up to 6800. That's 25-35% heavier for the EV. The Hummer weighs 9000-9700 pounds. All...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I agree completely. A properly designed suspension is the key. I have wheeled my Jeep stock and then with a bolt on 3" suspension lift. Obstacles I climbed fine stock suddenly gave me a little a trouble lifted. I didn't really understand why at the time. I was dragging the belly a lot less, but...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

There is some confusion in this thread about what causes tire spin or lack of traction off road. All the torque in the world won't help unless the suspension geometry is correct. Jeep is a perfect example of this. A Wrangler in its stock form (especially a TJ) will crawl over just about...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I answered upthread that my max is $80-85k. Please don't take that as me having no issue with that price. I am 43 and have purchased 3 new vehicles in my life. I still own all 3. At 24, I bought a 2006 Wrangler. Then a 2016 Grand Cherokee that will be replaced hopefully by the Scout. Then a 2019...

Ideas for the revamps and the Travelers Sister!

I'd really like to see what they expect the base model to look like so that people can stop speculating. I doubt that helps drum up much excitement for the brand though. We've seen offroad styling on both concepts. It would be a good balance to show a more street focused version. Maybe what...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

As mentioned already, it really depends on what exactly comes on the $60k Scout. If they manage to deliver everything shown on the concept plus the advertised range, they will have the hottest selling vehicle in the market. I don't expect that though. I hope they can pull off a $60k model that...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Now do width. Height too while you're at it.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Cool. Wrangler isn't an EV though. Neither is the Bronco. F-150 and Silverado has EV variants so we're getting closer. Ramcharger continues to get delayed because they just can't figure out the technology. Why? Because it isn't available in a comparable personal vehicle yet (locomotives aren't...

Bigger Gas Tank - 15 Gallons is Abysmal

I don't believe 500 miles would be gas and go for another 500 since the battery and gas would both be depleted. The question is going to be whether the vehicle will drive with a completely depleted battery. That would only allow driving another 350 (maybe less?) miles after filling up.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

All of this. Tesla apparently did a horrible job with the cut off of the Model Y. I can always tell when one is coming opposite direction. Worse yet is the retrofit light on the older USPS delivery vehicles. Those damn things could blind an airplane. I love the headlights on my 16 Grand...

    What age group are you?

43 here so I'll move up a bracket before delivery. I have a July birthday and am hoping my Traveler may be in my driveway right about my 46th.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I had a thought this morning while reading about the supplier park that is being built along side the production facility. My plan for my next vehicle is to use a dedicated shop to perform a full ceramic coat of the vehicle. This will be more expensive, but also better quality, than whatever...
