  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Ideas for Harvester

Whab, Thanks for bringing the FPLG generator to the group's awareness. I've never seen this design, I do try to keep up with new engine technology. I especially like the idea of variable speed combustion cycles and heat sinking to the vehicle. I'm not sure if you know about old time engines...

Option for Propane Gas generator for Electric + Gas option

I like the idea of a multi-fuel engine. I was considering a propane conversion back in the 1990's, but propane is not as conveniently available as gasoline. I wonder how frequently blended gasoline needs to be run through the tank to keep the ethanol from degrading. Propane cylinders have a near...

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

2222222222 I am always shocked at how inefficient our overall use of energy is. Check out, Well-to-wheel analysis, choose your own source. Taking all inputs required to operate a gasoline vehicle make them 11%-27% efficient. The range include the varying difficulty in extracting and processing...

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

I also like the idea of a diesel generator and know that it can't happen due to Diesel gate. I loved my VW Diesel due to the service interval, torque, lower RPM, and at 150,000 miles, the engine was just hitting its prime. Several other manufacturers were also hit with penalties of cheating...

    Battery Capacity Options

I'm hoping that Scout will be able to consider outfitting their vehicles with lower cost, higher energy density batteries than NMC 622. Price should be cut in half, energy density should be doubling in the next few years if you believe the repots and Youtbue videos.

    Driving Distance Poll

Agreed, When the US manufacturers hopped on-board the NACS charging standard, EV's, including CCS fitted ones like Ford F-150 Lightning were supposed to get access to Superchargers with adapters and MagicDock stations. The Youtube of one trying to charge at a Superstation probably blew it for...

    Driving Distance Poll

Dana, I'd be a little concerned about using a BEV in remote areas today, unless Tesla NACS charging is truly worked out by the time Scout is released. I've owned an EV for 10 years now as our second or third around town car. I find that the cost isn't as much of an issue to me as superior...
