  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Love how this thread specifically has brought @THil08 and @J Alynn together….love how Scout can bridge all gaps :)

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Love it..yes lots of economics involved however Scott did say the engine would be sourced from the region…how about a Ducati engine…it’s VW group.. small size with HUGE HPs/KWs

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Good choice and agree but not manufactured in North America to my knowledge

Make Harvester easily serviceable for the diy (oil changes, air filter, and spark plug replacements)

Scout has said non turbo in an interview. What factory are you referring to. I am only aware of the engines being manufactured in Mexico (besides Skoda in Europe)

Make Harvester easily serviceable for the diy (oil changes, air filter, and spark plug replacements)

Nearly all the 4 cylinder vw engines are turbocharged direct injection. At least those manufactured in North America. I think we may be surprised what they choose as it seems there isn’t anything off the shelf, no mods needed engine in North America.

    Battery Life Cycle

I don’t want to pay 120k for my Scout.

    Battery Life Cycle

I don’t think it is a “wake up”, it’s timing of mass availability and cost. 2030 is when mass production by most manufacturers is expected. Testing in prototypes now with a 5 year runway…starting with high cost luxury vehicles…then making its way to the masses.

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

My guess is that they don’t exactly know, so this is a situation where the CEO knows to under promise and over deliver. Steady state/flat at 70 mph with my 4xE is around 70kwh needed, 80 jumps up quite significantly. (I’ll have to test for more exact numbers on my next freeway drive). This isn’t...

Volkswagen EVs to Get Tesla Supercharger Access

Thank you for the explanation. Sounds about right. I think the higher voltage superchargers are the newer ones which have the updated communication protocols. My mother in law lives 2.5 hours away with a supercharger in her town, unfortunately it is first gen we would have to driver another 30...

Volkswagen EVs to Get Tesla Supercharger Access

Nope. First gen superchargers don’t support other vehicles. Lots of technical reasons I don’t fully understand, voltage, amps etc. but hopefully we will see upgrades at those first gen supercharger locations in the coming years!

    50 state vehicle

I’ll call dibs on Idaho. We can showcase the natural wonders of Idaho from thousands spring, deep canyons of the snake and owhyees to the peaks of the sawtooths, ruggedness of River of No Return and the lakes of northern Idaho. We would need a harvester model due to our remoteness.

Except you’ll have to purchase out of state :)

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

I can find a few spots here in Idaho where charging isn’t available especially if wanting to camp and use some electricity for a few days. That being said, a full bev may be better and keeping my 4xE for those very few times that the scout won’t cut it. 2 years to decide and flip back and forth...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I’ve had my vaccines…something others may…. Nevermind not going there!
