  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Hence the lottery win requirement. haha

So cool. I've never even thought about putting a stick with an electric motor, that would be super fun.

I’ve always said, if I won the lottery my dream is an electric conversion 60 series

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Yep, it's pretty ridiculous. And you have to take what they get in, or risk losing your place in line. And potentially be on waitlists (paid or unpaid) at multiple different dealerships to up your chances. Went through the whole thing with the new Land Cruiser when it was announced. Actually...

As ugly as Toyota's EVs have been, this is going to pique my interest, even if it doesn't hit home from a design standpoint. May have to consider it competition to my Scout purchase, depending on specs, pricing and timing. Although I REALLLLLY don't want to deal with Toyota's ridiculous...

    EREV initial release only?

So far, so good! Amazing how quickly I became used to seeing a gas station and checking quickly if I need to fill up.

    EREV initial release only?

2 year, so done Dec 2027. Always knew that was going to be a bit tight, but the price was right and as others have mentioned, there may be an option to see if I can extend for a little longer. But no guarantees.

    EREV initial release only?

This is where I'm at. While we all knew there is a risk in being in early adopters like we all are, we still need to be able to try to plan smartly. A $60k+ vehicle purchase is a big deal to most people. I signed up for a lease term on my new EV with the assumption that the EV Scout I reserved...

I've seen other reporting that they intend for this to be a 3 row SUV. If so, I may have to look hard at it vs. the Scout based on timing. Although I've never been thrilled with Toyota's EV design aesthetic. Just make an EV Land Cruiser exactly as-is (I know it's not that simple...aerodynamics...

Consumer Freedom and Scout Motors in South Carolina

When we leased the Ioniq5 the finance "manager" was pushing the Lease Excess Wear and Tear policy HARD. He was talking down to us like we were stupid and had no clue what to expect. We told him multiple times that we have leased cars before and know the drill. It was ridiculous. Also, the...

Haha, I'm definitely guilty of this.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Yeah, heated steering wheel is clutch, especially in Colorado where we have such big temp swings throughout the day! Hopefully the electrical issue doesn't progress, that's my biggest concern with this car. I am too online and reading about both the ICCU...

Thanks for the additional insight. I'm using the Level 1 portable that came with the car. It does have an unlock button on the charger handle, one more thing I tried this morning that didn't work 🤷‍♀️

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

Thanks for the tip! I do think I tried this in my cycling through all the options this morning. It's almost like it did unlock momentarily, but then locked and started charging again immediately since I'd get another notification on my app that charging had started.

Joining the EV gang while waiting for Scout!

Yeah, in my reading, it sounds like there is a setting option to just always have it unlocked. Not sure how I feel about this. I also read somewhere that just unplugging the charger while it's actively charging, without stopping the charge, is bad? Is that legit?
