  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I will never buy a ICE car again. My S 60 has 250k miles on it original battery 195 90% charge. Slow super charger. Scout needs a 500 mile real range option, with solid state batteries will be possible. In 2 years solid state will be the norm.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

A new car brand which does not have a path for FSD will not survive. You can make all the arguments you would like based off emotion, you cannot stop progress. Autonomous driving is not an if but a when. Tesla is darn close. This must be an option or scout will fail. 99% of buyers will have...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Done done! A lot more work than expected. Did final clean up today, power washed ceiling walls, touch up paint. Effort worth about $1.5k/day labor based off $16k quote. Also nice to accomplish this which has been on my todo list for 5 years.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Grind grind grind. 2 days worth. Also grined and filled seams, cracks, salt damage, epoxied the edges. No more gaps for pesky spiders to live in (black widows loved it). Prime coat, epoxy coat with full spread flakes then 2 top coats. Top coat really stinks. I’m letting it cure for a couple...

    Higher Range

With current battery technology, larger battery = quicker charging. After a year or so and 30–40k miles, range is lost and charge speeds drop. 80% charge is also required to maintain battery health and charging past that level is very very slow. Options for larger battery would be wonderful...

    Solar Tonneau option

Make it an option.. If I want, I will pay for it… Sort of like a larger battery…. If I want I will pay… please make it an option :)

What are you driving until release?

Tesla model s 60 2013 with 240k miles on the original battery. Looking into battery swap with newer larger battery to keep me going for the next few years.

    Solar Tonneau option

I would be garage primary for home and work but would be happy to pay for solar for the edge cases like camping.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

The early versions, year ago, I totally agree were unsafe. You needed to understand where it worked and did not. Now it is much better. FSD no but i would not call it dangerous. It does not do well in edge cases in the city, bike lane green, right turn red..does not get it. Mose of my...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

100% want as much self driving as tech will provide and ota updates as it improves. I love my Ys auto pilot. L4, L5 would be fantastic. Try driving i25(insert you least favorite road here) around Denver. Horrible experience but autopilot takes the stress out of it. Please do not just use...

PLEASE DO NOT DO AN EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH STARLINK - NO MUSK

Why would you care if it is Starlink or Kuiper (no others even close to being viable for years and years). The important aspect would be when your out of range of a cell tower you have connectivity. If you stuck or in need of help in the middle of the forest or desert, do you ask your rescuer...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

valet mode Like Tesla, locks glove box, limits speed, etc. Nice if it also limited where they could drive, within 0.1, 0.25 mile radius, etc.
