  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I agree, which is why I am glad we are still two years away, hoping more information comes and I can decide. I have had Ariya and now lightening. I WFH most days, have L2 at home, so EV makes the most sense for me, however there have been a handful of weekends where I am so busy that there just...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Think this is my overall biggest concern with EREV in general. I will now have to worry about potential longevity not on just batteries, but also on the generator motor.

Not sure what you define as “truck” but it’s literally the f150 “truck.”

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I can get an R1 dual max for 86K with 420 miles versus scouts 350. If we start getting into the 80-90k range, Rivian becomes a stronger option for me and I imagine many others (however, probably won't be able to go back to a mid-size after my current lightening ownership). If we can keep it to...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Longer range and fast charging are really the only two things that would I would consider switching to EV only for. And before someone replies with the “average daily commute xx,” I don’t want it for the daily commute, I want this for the once a month busy weekends, where I’m visiting family...

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

Really like the more subtle use of interior colors / accents / mixed material in comparison to the Terra refresh! Wish the exterior was a bit darker though, but really a cool color!

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

I also agree. I like them in theory, but also think there is a bit too much going on. I love a dark interior, mixed with brown / camel, but here the wood is throwing me off. Im also not a fan of the lighter tone interiors, just too many opportunities to get dirty and scuffed up. Other than...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

12+ hour detail on my parents new telluride. Decontamination wash, iron removal, claybar, 1 step polish, 2 stage ceramic coating.

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

I’m pretty sure this is the new treatment Jamie mentioned a few months ago, similar to the refresh for the traveler with the stripes and such, this will be the new look for the Terra for now. Don’t quote me though. Very glad to see a high gloss color on the terra, the sharp body lines beg for...

I'm Ready for Another Big Announcement

I’m very excited and hopefully we see the Terra with a nice gloss color to show off those body lines! Also, not sure if feasible, but would be nice once orders open to be able to get a baseline for what’s not included, but planned as things get ramped up. If the difference is 6M for a specific...

    Traveler 2.0?

White and black vehicles are just timeless IMO. A nice pearl white exterior, black accents with a peanut butter / tan would be very well received by me. I would also take a nice hunter green with the same trim options..

    Longer Range battery option

I agree to an extent, people are looking at the market trying to make something work for them and in some cases it just won’t. I do wish, the scouts would have a little extra buffer to account for the winter months as it’s pretty shocking to see how less efficient EVs become. I have an Ariya...

    Longer Range battery option

Playing devils advocate here. That 350-500 is almost halved when towing and then probably another 20-40% in winter conditions. So, take the 350 range while towing, you are at 175 or so, then if this during winter, lucky to be getting 100-125. That’s the reason why some people want more range /...

    Longer Range battery option

New sierras are approaching 500 mile range, $80-90k and weighing about 9K lbs due to the batteries, towing is 10-12k lbs as well
