  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I have said in a couple of other posts, but the biggest attraction for the BEV to me is the maintenance of combustion engine and all the parts that go with it. Going full electric I won't have to worry about oil changes, transmission fluid flushes, exhaust repairs, etc. I also love the ride of...

    EREV initial release only?

I too will wait for the BEV Terra, even if we're the last to get our vehicles. I drive a 16 year old Honda Element with 210,000 miles on it. It's starting to get expensive to fix and shit is starting to fail. If I have to drive something else for a few years, I'll still wait rather than change...

    What was your first job?

Interesting! What a unique situation. That is an awesome service, greatly needed right now with the shortage of housing and the rising cost of hoke ownership. My brother is a contractor and I do a lot of side work with him. In addition to the examples I gave in my initial post, our...

    What was your first job?

I mowed lawns, shoveled snow, had a paper route and babysat, but my first job getting a weekly paycheck was as a dishwasher at a private summer resort on the lake in my home town. I was only 12 years old and legally I couldn't get a work permit, even with my parents consent. Since I am a...

    Google Gemini AI Scout Images

My first time using Gemini. Kinda fun. It wouldn't pull a picture from my Google photos, so it added a random German Shepherd instead of an actual picture of "Henry". I also need to add me wading in the river, fly fishing. Also, we don't have mountains that large in Maine.

    Dog Friendly Features

This is the emblem that came on the rear hatchback. Please excuse the road salt, it's been a rough winter in Maine this year 🥶

    Dog Friendly Features

The paw print was actually from.the factory! Honda offered a "dog friendly" option. It came with rubber mats with a dog bone pattern, seat covers with a canine pattern, dog dishes with the Honda emblem on it, and some other cool accessories. That is a 2010 and has 210,000 miles on it. I need to...

    Dog Friendly Features

Rubber mats are a must! My old Honda Element is very easy to clean and I'm hoping for the same with the new Scout.

    Dog Friendly Features

Hahaha, that's exactly what my buddy said.

    Dog Friendly Features

I thought I was being brilliant "inventing" a new feature! A friend of mine (that is a certified mechanic) also informed me this morning that a lot of vehicles have had them in the past. Hopefully that's a good sign, and maybe it's not as far fetched as I had originally thought.

    Dog Friendly Features

For those of us with long haired dogs that shed a lot, how about a built in vacuum? Probably not feasible, but that would be super handy. I keep my Makita cordless behind the front seats and I am constantly vacuuming up the dog hair.

    Dog Friendly Features

My Dad had a Jeep Camanche back in the 80's, I loved driving that truck. You are correct, it might get old after a while, but I'll have a giant back seat all for him! (we don't have children)

    Dog Friendly Features

Gorgeous dogs!! Are they Walkers or Fox Hounds? I ran blueticks back when I was a kid, great dogs.

    Dog Friendly Features

I am also hoping the interior will be easily cleaned. My wife won't even ride in my current vehicle because it's covered in mud, hair, and drool. Henry goes everywhere with me and we spend a lot of time in the woods of Maine. Very excited about the bench seat so he gets to ride right beside me!
