  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

No, Rivian is too much for me, and too small, but as Ram, Chevy, Ford, drop prices, I can probably get into a new truck in the next 18 months for under 60k and that's all that's really important to me.

I was never a believer in a 27 launch lol, but I figured late 28 maybe. But, for me, I'm out, looks like in the next year there will be plenty of trucks I can grab in my price range, no need to wait years.

Should There Be an EV "Tax Penalty"?

Property tax was supposed to be for the roads. Vehicle registration tax was supposed to be for the roads. Gas tax was supposed to be for the roads. The roads have been in steadily degrading condition for 50 years or so, basically since they were finished. The roads aren't falling apart...

We'll see where they go with rebates and whatnot next January. May be my next truck, because I'm beginning to fear the Terra may be further away than 28.

[Terra] Double cab with a 6.5' bed

30% of sales needing 60% or more unique tools. While you're burning cash and not making any. They haven't kicked off, or even sourced, alot of the suppliers, there's still time. If I were trying to get a product to market, while maintaining a healthy financial status, I'd push the Terra...

What is More Important? - EV Charge Time or EV Range

Disagree. Again, I'm honest with myself, and I let data drive my decisions, not politics, feelings, or the need to belong to a tribe. I drive, daily, 100 miles. I haul, monthly, 1500-2500 lbs 300 miles or less. I tow bi-monthly, 6500 lbs 150 miles or less. I tow twice yearly, 7500 lbs...

[Terra] Double cab with a 6.5' bed

If anything, I'd bet they push the Terra altogether, take rate is overwhelmingly in favor of the Traveller.

Will be my first personal brand new vehicle in almost twenty years.

[Terra] Double cab with a 6.5' bed

Easily. Piece of cake. All you would need is, New stamping die for roof exterior. New die for roof bracing. New die for each rear door. New die for each bed side. New CHMSL/ rear window harness New molds for each rear door panel New switch panels New rear glass tools New tools...

Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

There's no way for them to be maintenance free. ICE engines require multiple forms of constant maintenance. It's the whole reason I ordered a BEV Terra, I don't want to do a thing but plug it in, unplug it, and go places. If I wanted to dink with plugs and filters, I can just drive any one...

What is More Important? - EV Charge Time or EV Range

Neither is important to me at this point. There's literally nothing on the market without enough range, and 99% of the time I'm going to charge it at home in my driveway. The 1% of the time I don't, I do not care about a 30 minute stop.

    Scout Sales Strategy: Territory Ambassadors
