  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

I don't think it needs to be that complicated. Warn sells winches that run from 12V https://www.warn.com/pages/warn-winch-comparison And TI provides a reference design for a 400V to 12V bidirectional DC to DC converter. If Scout Motors goes with a main battery higher than 400V, I'm guessing...

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

Seems like if other manufacturers can offer V2G (vehicle to grid), which I believe Hyundai Ioniq can do although I have not tested it, going from main battery to the voltage for a winch, or main battery to grid voltage (110V or 220V) then from "Grid" to winch should be doable for miniscule...

How did you find out about the new Scouts?

I actually rarely get this stuff, I just like the name stumptown. The actual coffee I recommend is Philz or Pure Bean (https://purebean.com/pages/idyllwild-ca) I think you are right that the "nitro" just gives is a bit of foam head and smoothness not present without the nitro.

How did you find out about the new Scouts?

I don't know about the bourbon cream, I'm not big on cream liquors. Buffalo Trace is excellent and a very good bargain. I agree as a sipper it comes off sweet, which can lead to too much of a good thing, if you know what I mean.

How did you find out about the new Scouts?

Ok, when it gets to be over 50 like the one in this picture (which has had a heart, hips, knees, eyes and probably other stuff replaced) it can have quality single malt. In the meantime, I also suggest :ROFLMAO:

How did you find out about the new Scouts?

Uh, but which good stuff? or Don't mind the specific motor oil, I actually don't know what is "the good stuff" for 20 year old engines. Glenfarclas 25 is mighty fine for humans though.

Interview with Ryan Decker, VP of Strategy and Brand, Scout Motors

Completely understood. I enjoy some "Freedom fries" from time to time, especially when they are covered with hot brown gravy and cheese curds and served at a ski resort in Canada :ROFLMAO: I just think language is funny sometimes, especially when it makes overly sensitive snowflakes, not...

Interview with Ryan Decker, VP of Strategy and Brand, Scout Motors

Visio (Shame on me for still using visio, but it is what works for a lot of colleagues) gives me a choice between "Metric Units" and "US Units". It would be so beautiful if Microsoft pushed an update to change "US units" to "Freedom units" for July 4th :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: It would probably...

Interview with Ryan Decker, VP of Strategy and Brand, Scout Motors

Ha, in science and engineering we often refer to them as "Imperial Units", even though that is not technically correct. 🤷‍♀️

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Wow, thank you for sharing that experience. I found a bit more info on the Rivian Assistant here: https://www.theverge.com/transportation/928651/rivian-ai-voice-assistant-r1-r2 Is the update you are referring to the same one the Verge published an article about just last week? Or is this...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

This could be an actual good use of AI integration. When traveling and you need a stop in the next say 70 miles for charging, food, bathroom, stretch legs, whatever, to have the car find for you along the route something that has all your needs in one stop. Right now on road trips, either my...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Good list, even though none of those would be must haves for me, I like how you gave good reasons for each option for you. FYI, in the Ioniq5, which is EV only, the car is so quiet and smooth riding, it is a completely different experience from an internal combustion car.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Wow, so I am not the only one! Based on where I am parked these days, I'm pretty sure the days are numbered for mine as eventually a critter is going to find it. I hope not though, I always thought it was a cool touch of originality.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Counterpoint: special option for a cardboard glove box in a nod to the originals, and to avoiding plastic. I kid, Scout Motors, don't do this. Really, I mean it. Really.

Took some photos of something you don't see photos of everyday, cardboard glovebox!
