  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Ohh I absolutely love our uncharted. The Solterra had abysmally slow charging. We traded it in for the uncharted which leaves me smiling ear to ear when I charge it and drive it. The ride is very nice. I thankfully have not had issues with the battery drain that many others have had on the...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

My BEV experience is with the Subaru Solterra and currently the Subaru uncharted. They are badged as Subarus but made by Toyota. There are widespread rampant issues with the 12V batteries dying quite quickly. Many want either a larger battery which Subaru was sued for and lost with their ICE...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I realize this is a small non issue. But having had two other BEV’s both with smaller than they should have had 12v batteries I hope they put a decently sized 12V battery into the scout and they make it so we can upgrade to an AMG without having to get crazy with using tenders or putting in...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

I would def stay away from the 2023 Solterra then. I am actually headed to the dealership tomorrow to look at the new ones while getting my '23 serviced (recalls). My understanding is the charging on the newest 2026 model is vastly improved including in the cold. My understanding is it does...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

We have a ‘23 Subaru Solterra and love It. We have the touring level. It has good clearance and all Subarus are AWD. We live in Florida so snow isn’t an issue but from the forums I’m in those who live up north swear by the XMode in snow and rave about its abilities with bad weather. The 2026...

    Scout delayed??

Try reading the entire “article” on an email without the benefit of the picture after waking up going who’s that lucky chick not putting two and two together. Then seeing the picture and thinking…..why is she strapped…..it is South Carolina after all…..wait she looks familiar….reads the name...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Yes. I switched it a few weeks ago to a BEV terra. :)

    Scout delayed??

Yes it’s why I came here to ask. I knew Jamie and or you all would know. There’s so much misinformation it’s why I was asking. :)

    Scout delayed??

Extra extra is almost 400 pages long and quite challenging to follow hence posting it here. I looked for “new posts” first but find that very bloated long thread a bit much to follow.

    Scout delayed??

Just read this post from FB. Is this true? We are now looking at 2028 instead of 2027...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I have a BEV currently. I live in South Florida. We had power out for four days two years ago due to a hurricaine (we had only outer bands not even the full force ) I have a generator but the TDP is >5 % so I can’t use it to charge my BEV. I am primarily looking at EREV now but would love to be...

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

Interesting. My Solterra was about $40 cheaper than my husbands Outback. Both were new. My Solterra was a higher level trim than the Outback.

Current EV owners…are you staying BEV or switching to Harvester?

Yes, I truly got excited to see what Scout was offering and trying to do like really excited. I think it's really really awesome. It feels like I can get rid of two vehicles with my Tacoma and my Solterra and just have my Scout with the best of both worlds still using it 90+% of the time as...

Current EV owners…are you staying BEV or switching to Harvester?

I currently have a Subaru Solterra BEV and I love my car. It's my daily driver. I'm looking at the EREV for one reason only. Living in South Florida with our hurricanes it can be very challenging to charge the vehicle after a large storm. Hurricane Jeanne, Frances, Wilma the last three to...
