  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Thanks Jamie! I appreciate how hard you guys are working on this and look forward to hearing more about your packaging options!

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

So this thread is now 19 pages and has a wide range of asks and please don'ts. Other than the few who had face to face time with engineers/ directors at the reveal, I at least feel a little lost in what is and isn't going to be incorporated. I understand the desire to keep us engaged, but it...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Agree make it an option. Whether or not you decide to submit your dash cam footage should be your choice and if every model has it you will likely get lawyers demanding it cause they know it's there.

    Things to Avoid

Oh.... 2 more..... Please don't make the glass roof or a sunroof a standard feature. I've had enough car roof leaks in my life and just want a metal roof without openings over the whole top as an option And last, please offer a dark color way for the interior that doesn't have any bright...

    Things to Avoid

Ok, so for reference most of my vehicles were built before Y2K so understand I don't have a lot of experience outside of our 2024 Corolla and various rental cars but here is my HATED features list: Corolla proximity detection automatic locks. Car unlocks every time I walk near it and most of...

Option for a Rugged/Waterproof Interior Trim

In a seperate comment, I LOVE the idea of a waterproof method of entry for the vehicle. To me this means not using phones ( or watches) as the back up. If I go trail running in the rain or kayaking I don't want either to have to be with me. What if you create a small watertight compartment...

Option for a Rugged/Waterproof Interior Trim

I don't need waterproof to wash it out, but I do want MY traveller to feel more like my old 77 scout or 99 Durango than my sisters mall crawler Denali. I can totally see leather seats and the interior shown at the reveal being an option, but I want some adventure capable and easy to clean seats...

Aux lighting/12v equipment fusebox for the interior auxiliary switches

Agree 100%. The users will want to add things that you all can't foresee/ design in and you don't want them trying to figure out where to tap power!

    Rethink Steering Wheel Design?

I would like a round wheel and minimal control buttons. Cruise control or volume are fine but nothing of importance like gear selection or ignition.

Magna to develop pickup and SUV for Scout Motors

I hope it is for BUILDING ( not designing) concept only. There is very little I like about the g-wagon I find interesting. And g-wagon prices will tap me out of this purchase.

    EV focused suggestions

Please make a version with none of the proximity or over the wire controlled locking. It’s just a future failure to me and I have no issues using the mechanical keys on my other vehicles.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I am all for the apple play stuff as long as it’s basic and really like the idea of a removable Bluetooth speaker if it has a hard plug to the audio in it’s parked state but I would like the audio to be customizable from crutchfeild should the owner so desire without working around awkward ohm...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

Not a huge fan. The 4 doors feel crammed in on this body style. Maybe would be better proportionally on a scout 2 based look?
