  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Traveler Ride Quality and NVH Expectations

The R1S is a $100k three row SUV with 22 inch wheels and chrome trim. It was absolutely not intended to be primarily an off-roader. It's perfectly reasonable for customers to expect a very good ride. As for the Scout, I hope they at least take a look at the older Lexus GX460s. Those were body...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Man, I don't know what to say. Every time you describe how you think our model works, it's clear that you don't understand what we're saying. I simply don't know how we can be any clearer. Then you go on to state a bunch of things about the Ramcharger which show that you don't know what you're...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

I don't know why this isn't getting through, but again, no one is saying that the battery won't be used. The battery can be used to supplement the power of the generator for high load demands. Why do you think that's not the case? The battery and the generator are both connected to the motors...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

The Harvestor being a tiny motor makes it more important that it send electricity directly to the wheels not less, because that's the more efficient way to do it. Going through the battery first gives no benefit whatsoever. It only results in loss of efficiency and wear and tear on the battery...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

So you agree with @CarTechGeek that diesel electrics do NOT send the electricity through a battery before powering the wheels?

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

A ~130kwh battery pack has got to be on the order of $20k, no? I would think even saving 1/3rd of that would pay for a small ice.

    Switches and Knobs?

I'm hoping it's a driver side temp control on the left and passenger on the right. That looks like a long reach for the driver.

    Dimensions

    That would be awesome

    Dimensions

I'd be surprised if they offer less than a 20" wheel. These big EVs weigh on the order of 6500-7000 lbs and have massive brakes. I believe the Rivian off-road package uses 20s. Not sure about the width though.

    Switches and Knobs?

What about the knob on the left? And what are all the switches in the middle?

    Scout Color Poll #1

Can we do one of these for interior colors as well?

Say hello to the new Scout® Terra™ Truck and Scout® Traveler™ SUV

I sure hope the cabana roof is just an option. Please consider dropping the squircle steering wheel. Round is good. Other than that, it's everything a boy (or girl) could want!
