  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Towing Behind Motorhome - Flat Towing

A friend of mine tows his F150 regular cab with his BMW R1300GS in the bed behind his 38 foot motorhome.

Thanks for the detailed reply! I agree that the devil is in the details, which we don't currently have. Note that I avoid I-95 from Boston to Washington (and I will NEVER cross the GW Bridge again!). I drive I-84 to Tappan-Zee to 287 to I-78 to I-81. I am familiar with ABRP. I had a $300...

Please, No Free Fast Charging Credits

My daily routine when I drive my Tacoma from MA to FL looks like this. Start with a full tank. Wheels on the road at 6:am. Drive for 5.5 hours ~300 miles Stop for lunch and fill the tank - this takes about 30 minutes total Drive for another 4 hours ~200 miles Arrive at my destination after 10...

Please, No Free Fast Charging Credits

The electric fuel pump is submerged in the bottom of the fuel tank of many cars and trucks. These pumps are designed so that the fuel in which they are submerged cools the pump. Running the tank below 1/8 means that the pump internals will run warmer than they were designed to run, and lead to...

Please, No Free Fast Charging Credits

I'm new to EV's (never owned or driven one) but if I understand correctly: You want to charge UP TO 80% on a regular basis - I love the stadium seating analogy! You don't ever want to get below 10%, because this can also damage the battery Thus, you should really only PLAN on using 70% of the...

What are you driving until release?

I have owned my '09 Tacoma since new in June of '09. It is currently at 133K miles, but I'll be driving from Boston, MA to Ft. Myers, FL later this week. Because of my semi-annual 1600 mile trip, the 500 mile range of the Scout is vital to me. My other vehicle is an '01 Toyota Avalon with...

    Audio system

High end audio should be an option - and one that I won't be interested in. It's a vehicle, not a sound studio.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Re-posting this here, because I really want the Scout Engineering Team to see it. Video security system, a-la Tesla’s Sentry Mode and Rivian’s Gear Guard. Make it an option, and I believe that it will be popular. ONE of the (many) reasons that I walked away from my Lucid deposit was their lack...

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

I'll take a pass at the list presented above. Not to be argumentative, but to let the engineering team know that there are differences on some of these items; -✅add rear bumper corner built-in steps to allow access to stepping up into the truck bed, similar to the Chevrolet Silverado/Colorado...

    Switches and Knobs?

I will add that my wife and I had a Kupra as rental car in Italy last month. I was happy that it featured Android Auto, because I was a stranger, driving a strange car, in a strange land. Google Maps was a godsend. I was driving to a wedding (the reason for the trip) with her cousin in the...

    Scout Security System?

That could be a feature that people would pay extra for. My sister has a home security camera that stores her security video to the cloud for which she pays a monthly subscription. However, there would still be the need for some onboard data storage. If nothing else, it would be necessary as a...

    Scout Security System?

Will a security system, a-la Tesla’s Sentry Mode and Rivian’s Gear Guard be available? Make it an option, and I believe that it will be popular. ONE of the (many) reasons that I walked away from my Lucid deposit was their lack of the availability of such a system in a "premium" vehicle. With...
