  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

New Harvester Info from LA Auto Show

But its fun. And my doctor tells me I need exercise, so I'm pretty sure this counts. Especially using my Jump To Conclusions mat!

I'll never use that compass. I must have it. Non-negotiable.

Hard to exceed my expectations - I'm basically in love and the Terra is my dream truck (I dont know if I've ever had one of those before - most trucks are 'just fine' to me). One of the things I noted was that my family and I had been hopping in/out of vehicles all morning. Liked a few, hated a...

Ok. I had to make a decision: either bask in the glory, chat with employees, and help create excitement for other show goers ... or take a billion photos for internet strangers friends. So I went with the fully selfish decision and ngl.. I'm glad I did. I spent an hour in the booth while my...

    Ev Delay

Ah there it is. Thank you. That's the math I was missing. Putting weight aft of the axle is taking away from the hitch weight, which is amplified out (like 10x) into the towing capacity numbers. And how far away from the axle it is increases further as it acts like a lever. It all makes sense...

    Ev Delay

I think you're dead on, but I'm curious about one quibble: You mention tongue weight being the limiting factor due to how far back the ICE is placed (which makes sense from a leverage perspective). However, doesnt that chew into payload moreso than towing capacity? Or are you equating towing...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It feels like what the Cybertruck was actually going for. It looks good and rugged and a bit dystopian. Not my style, but I can appreciate it.

    Plug in hybrid.

IRL LOL at the 'understanding' comment :D I get your speculation. I keep looking at the 50% number and thinking thats such an odd, low point to not increase the battery above. Your comment makes sense around the tippy top of the range. But if that were the case, why wouldn't they say above 80...

    Plug in hybrid.

And I think this is the crux of the disagreement. @BeerParty is saying every other hybrid is able to fully recharge, why not Ram? I'm sort of asking the same question - if they say 'it'll charge up to 50%, but if the battery is >50% it'll just maintain SoC' Soooo.. why? Why wouldnt Ram be able...

    Software Features

Ya know, now that I think about it.. have the profile switcher (like the AI pic I posted) and then the wheel under the power button could be used to scroll quickly to the desired driver profile if it needs changing before turning it on. And like others have said: have a 'smart default' that...

    Plug in hybrid.

The way I read that is the v6 will produce electricity to power the motors directly, maintaining SoC by not adding anything to the battery. And if its <50%, then any excess left over from powering the motors would be added to the battery ..until battery hits 50%. Then it'll stop adding to it...

    Plug in hybrid.

I believe Ram has mentioned that they'll only fill the battery to 50% via the v6 (romr reports on that here, I cant quite find the article but I know I've read the same one he's reporting on article here). I think someone (tfl iirc) guessing about voltage being the issue. Is Scout far enough...

    Software Features

I really want an easy way to select driver profiles. And notably, if two+ phones are detected, it should be easy to select which one is primary. My wife and I travel in the same vehicle all the time. And every possible setting should go into driver profiles rather than global settings. In...
