  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

I fall into the latter category as well. Not everyone does.

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

I Hope you really don’t expect Jamie to understand all of our skills when it comes to vehicles and make a list of items we should be able to repair/replace in our driveway. Most people only put gas in their vehicle and have someone do all the maintenance and, call a number when they get a flat...

Ya. The tread has been hijacked into warranty years/miles in California.

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

Looks like the Harvester will fall under BEVx and they must meet all TZEV requirements plus a minimum of 75 miles on all-electric range.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

This is true. Often part of a package or higher trim level. Hoverever, if you are looking for a 360 view like the original poster was, you are already looking at these package and trim levels.

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

Good question. Both my Ford and Lincoln dealer come to the house for service calls now.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

These days, rear backup cameras and camera-based blind-spot warning systems in the sideview mirrors are pretty much a must-have. But the front camera is a bit trickier. Adaptive Cruise Control can be camera-based, but it often uses radar or laser sensors for better accuracy and reliability. So...

This way, we can reduce the need for mining raw materials, lower the environmental impact of batteries, and save money too!

I don't think it will be BMW. BMW canceled a $2 billion contract in June 2024. Because Northvolt could not deliver on time.

Northvolt also offers a program called Revolt to recycle valuable metals from batteries and return them to manufacturing processes. This initiative aims to reduce the demand for raw materials, minimize the environmental impact of batteries, and decrease operational costs. And their production is...

Can't say I have ever heard of something like this ever occurring.

Seems like something that, at the very least should be looked into. As more EV's come to market as you say this could be , "highly beneficial." Welcome to the community.

    Mirror, mirror…

I am not sure why but some Vehicle manufacturer's give three exterior dimensions for vehicle width. My 2024 Lincoln Corsair for example gives three. Of course if you don't know the final mirror design, as Jamies replied then Excluding Mirrors makes sense. Once the design is complete I am not...
