  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

DJG replied to the thread Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool.
I agree. They will need to do something to make people decide to wait another year if they are ready for a new car now. I was in that...

DJG replied to the thread Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool.
As a follow up to my previous post, I spent way too much time in the configuration tool for my Rivian. It might be best for some of us...

I was thinking about this recently. When I got my Rivian, I was able to go on and configure for a long time before I got it. At least...

DJG replied to the thread Partnering with an EV camper.
I am intrigued by some of these EV campers, but at the current cost, I don’t see it ever happening for me. Just running the numbers, I...

The analogy holds true if I swap the example to a mass produced SUV. Toyota 4Runners, as an example, range from $40k-70k. Chevy Tahoes...

Just as a frame of reference, the F-150 ranges from about $40k-$80k. Within Ford's truck lineup, there Ranger and Maverick are smaller...

I don’t mind if it’s an option, but I wouldn’t pay extra for it. My Rivian drives itself on freeways, and it’s quite boring to “drive”...

I think there will eventually need to be a higher volume, lower priced version in order for Scout to have long term success, so I hope...

It simply depends on what that 60k gets you. My wife's JLURD and my F250 King Ranch Diesel were both over that by a little - but you...

DJG reacted to SpaceEVDriver's post in the thread Service Center with Like Like.
But how many independent service centers are going to be comfortable taking on a brand new vehicle? And will (and how) they get warranty...

DJG replied to the thread Service Center.
I like this approach for me, and it’s a reason I see this truck as one that I can buy and keep for a long time - something I generally...

DJG replied to the thread Service Center.
The Scout plan sounds very similar to Rivian, and I am not sure that mobile service is as great as it sounds. I live about 200 miles...

I think the location and availability of service centers is an important, and possibly underlooked, thing to get right. For the first...
