  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

I've used nothing but one-pedal in my Mustang Mach E and Lightning for more than 5 years now. When used properly it is extremely smooth and hasn't changed my reaction time when I need to use the brake pedal. It's all very natural. I recommend you find an EV event that offers test rides. There...

    Service Center

Back in the 70s I always went to the International dealer in town.

How much more would you pay for a Launch Edition Scout

    So what does priority mean?

How much more would you pay for a Launch Edition Scout

I doubt it. Scout has said they are coming out with the EREV first. I only expect a single "launch" model. Since the EREV comes first, the launch edition will be an EREV. At this point, the BEV is most likely going to be a footnote if they finally get around to it.

How much more would you pay for a Launch Edition Scout

I have two perfectly good EVs. I'll wait for the edition I really want. Since Scout isn't going to launch with a BEV, I'm not going with a launch Scout. For the R2, I would want the more advanced autonomy hardware that comes out in about 6 months.

Charge port at front, passenger side

I would definitely prefer not to drop the trailer. It's a pain in the a$$. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to charge.

    Front back?

    Tow range

Charge ports in the rear of a vehicle SUCKS for towing. If the Scout stays with rear charge ports, I'll drop my reservation as I need the Terra to tow. We pulled our 25' travel trailer across the country and back behind our Ford F-150 Lightning in 2023 before we had access to Tesla...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I initially reserved an EREV but am no longer interested in burning dinosaur juice. I would only buy a BEV now and there is no way to change my early reservation.

Offer it with a gas motor

I'm no bun hair hipster and the first vehicle I owned was a '71 Scout II. I love what Scout Motors has done here. If you want gas, get the version with the Harvester EREV. If you want gas or diesel, you are out of luck.
