  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Please clarify what “modern take on retro colors” means. It sounds like NOT original colors. If so, fine, but I don’t understand the point of having similar to retro colors instead of actual retro colors. Modern paint formulation/ clear coat, sure but why change the color?

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I would put level 0 as a manual transmission car with the clutch in or transmission out of gear - no slowing at all. Unless it detects something ahead, my Audi EV is at level 0 (pure coasting) when I let off the accelerator. It has paddles (and the brake pedal) to engage regen.

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

I believe Magna Steyr in Austria was contracted for engineering work. They’re probably going to build the mules since Scout doesn’t have a factory yet.

What are you driving until release?

I know, right? My Audi was almost $90k new and I got it for less than $25k so I could get the $4k used EV credit. My buddy got a '22 Model 3 with full self-driving for the same.

What are you driving until release?

I drove a 2014 Cadillac ELR (an EREV before EREVs were cool) for 10 years and planned to keep it until the new Scout came out but with the expected wait and the bargain prices on used EVs, I decided to get a BEV. I’ll be driving this 2019 Audi e-tron until I get a Scout Traveller. I have a...

Scout Warns VW Dealers Fighting Direct Sales That It’s Not Playing Around

I think it's this. As in, We believe we'll win this suit but if we don't, we sure as hell won't be putting them in VW show rooms. They could even put them into Navistar dealers (which just changed its name back to International ICYMI). Then you could buy an International Scout like the good...

    South Carolina Bill- H. 3777

I'd like a middle ground that permits manufacturers to sell directly to consumers but only at full MSRP. This would put a cap on some of the dealer shenanigans (like "market adjustments", nitrogen tires, rust proofing, security systems, prep fees, etc.) but still leave them a margin to make a...

Kim Java reviews Scout Motors Terra and Traveler at CES

My guess is they're targeting production beginning early/mid 2027 which would put a few trucks into customer hands in 2027 with possible (likely) production slips to late 2027 with deliveries starting in 2028. Either way, I think it will come out as a 2028 model year. I also wouldn't be...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

My opinion- it’s to create a basic level of EV efficiency no matter how bad/clueless the driver is. I don’t like it because sometimes it’s better to coast and I find it irritating to need to fine tune the pedal position to create coasting. I prefer the car to coast when I let off the accelerator...

What 16 Metro's Will Scout Launch?

I hope San Antonio makes the list but if I’m honest, Austin seems a better fit for EVs and it’s not too far.

    Traveler Engine Sizing

I want what you want. This thread contains a lot of that if you want a painful read: https://scoutmotors.community.forum/threads/speculation-alert-possible-harvester-engine-choices.1085/

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

I want Brake pedal controls regen strength with option for one pedal driving and wheel paddles like my current car has.

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

Not That I've seen. As far as pricing, my best guess is go look what the new Land Cruiser costs.
