Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I know I’ve said it before, but I really wish SM would consider adding an A-pillar handle for the driver as well. I’d love to see it added for the production vehicles. It’s literally the most used entry on the vehicle. I’ve had vehicles with it and without it. I very much prefer to have it and I know I am not the only one.
Agreed. Some of us aren’t getting any younger, plus for the vertically challenged 😄

Agree. I was always told not to pull in using steering wheel which is what will happen
It is unclear why some manufactures don't have a grab handle for the drivers. It is like they are willing you to use the wheel, and saving money. In 2004 I had a Volvo S40 I was turning in at lease end and the guy that came to the house to do the turn-in inspection was a rather large man. When he got in the car he grabbed the wheel to get in and sheered off the pin in the steering column. The car had to towed away for repair before I could turn it in.

I didn’t even know that could happen! 😳

It’s not like steering columns of old.
Now everything is plastic and not as mechanical more electronic.
Maybe cliché, but they don’t build them like they used to
Very true. So to that point why wouldn’t Scout opt to have the drivers handle? This has bugged me since the reveal. Especially with sitting higher on 35’s and 37’s

Thats one of those questions that always bugs me. If you query your favorite AI it will tell you that Trucks this is very limited, Minivans they are typically include and the SUV are often included. So why doe's Scout leave these out? Still a mystery.

Something I’ve noticed is most modern vehicles seem to lack that a pillar grab handle. I always thought it was either a visibility or airbag thing, but I know there are some that have a passenger side a-pillar grab handle.

I’d kill for one on my Bronco but in that case it’s an airbag issue.

So are we saying the the grab-handle passenger has fewer safety features than the Non-Grab-Handle driver?

I still think Bronco could have solved it. I despised they missed that when we had our Bronco

I have no idea. Eliminating it at all doesn’t make sense to me. But Ford, for example, put in a bunch of effort to include fancy handles on the side of the dash next to the door so I know it’s not just accidental.

So I feel like the guy commenting on the Mona Lisa and I can barely draw a stick figure. But I'm hoping the roof basket will be an option. I'm not a fan. It looks like an add on and not one that adds to the appearance. Not sure what I would do differently, but I think the basket should look as innovative as the New Scout. It looks too small and too after-market.

I think the front grill got cluttered. I think it's the color changes. In the earlier prototype the section of the grill that runs behind "Scout" is lighter and the sections above and below it were darker. I like that better because the darker headlights and the section of grill that connect them (upper set and lower set) are all dark. And the marker lights (shown on in this photo) are connected by a section of grill that is lighter. Switching it to the current configuration results in a more busy and somewhat confused front.

Below is the original grill configuration. Hope this all makes sense.
