  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Maybe. They still have many, many hurdles to cross. They are losing a lot of money on every vehicle produced. The quality still isn't there, and if you are the FB Rivian group, you can see the new Rivian owners act just like Tesla owners, i.e. they claim there cars are the greatest ever, and...

I'm going to try to gas light myself about batteries and range

To me it's more about practicality. I want to have the option charge when I can, and refuel when I need to. I don't want to be that dependent on network that is probably 20-30 years out from maturity. Yes, I go to very off grid places when I camp and dirt bike ride, and there is nothing around...

What's weird is how Tesla does zero marketing and can still sell so many cars.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Not sure why you arguing so much for a body on frame, lockers, solid axle, for under 60k thing. Go buy a Jeep if you want a bare bones do kinda everything vehicle under 60k. I mean, are specifically rock crawling with this thing? Because there are PLENTY of very capable uni-body AWD/4WD vehicles...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Maybe I'm reading your post incorrectly, but $60k isn't what it used to be, and $60k is cheap compared to what's out there. It's also about value. Both the technical and perceived. With Scout putting so much into this truck, even on a base trim, there is a lot of value there. From the more...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Is it every bit as wide? Because when I saw the Terra and Traveler in person they look narrower than the traditional full size truck/suv's. They wouldn't let me measure it, but that's what it looked like. Could be wrong though.

What Kind of Vehicle is Scout Actually Building? (and why that matters more than specs)

I think you are diving in way too deep. They are building a vehicle that everyone as buyer has stated they want, but all manufacturers have yet to produce. Simple and brilliant.

Traveler vs. Terra - Targeted Technical Questions

Hold on. Before we get into anything, you can't decide between an SUV and a truck?
  9. M

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Except the Rivian owners have become like Tesla owners. Do you want to be a part of that?

    Happy Holidays!

I do wish you could also just say "Merry Christmas".

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

For me, spending a lot of time on FB Rivian Group ( before production), the people on there are basically like Tesla owners, and I for one, want nothing to do with that product, or to be like them.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Exactly. My 2004 Nissan Titan has this feature, and my hand me down 2002 Mercury Sable does as well. (yes, still running strong at 150k with basic maintenance, gets 28 mpg highway, and has the 24 valve Duratec)

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I would like dual sun visors. My early 2k cars have them. I noticed many new cars don't. I sure is sweet have a sun visor on the side to block the sun on the driver's window, and another for blocking the sun through the windshield.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

No, there is nothing they could or can do to make me change. There is no "fence". I like ICE engines. And if you have seen my previous posts, there are places I go that are very remote, so I don't want or need the drama. The convenience of easily filling up with fuel is what I want and need...

Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

Not necessarily. We have had Prius' in our fleets for over 15 years. Most of the time they come in, they do not require oil changes. The oil looks like it just came out of the bottle. Probably because there is no load on it, and because it can cycle on and off. My observation.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

My thoughts too. That and the fact that I like to go camping and exploring where there is nothing around for Loooong way. There certainly won't be any charging stations out there. The other problem is crowds. There is a Tesla Supercharging station not too far from my house. The lines on most...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I will explain my reasoning. I go off the beaten path where there sometimes there aren't gas station around for many, many miles. In those situations where you are in the middle of nowhere, it is where I want to have the ability to make it out. I carry Jerry Cans of fuel just for my bikes, but I...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Brilliant. If we combine spectacular and awesome what do we get? Spectawesome? LOL. I don't know but this is one wicked combination. I'm chomping at the bit for delivery day.

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

I agree. Many are responding with "If you plan to tow something that big, get a different truck." But we are talking towing 5,000 lbs!! I often tow trailers in the 4-8k lb. range. I often use a U-Haul car hauler, which probably weights 1500 lbs. Then add a car on it, say my Olds 442, and that...
