  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

10k feels insane to me. I guess maybe a 110k Rivian it makes sense, but still...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

Can’t wait! But @Jamie@ScoutMotors I’m about to be out of the country for a couple weeks and we have package theft issues. If I update my address now is this going to arrive before December?

My FIL is in his 70s and buying what he expects to be his last car. Man has been driving a 2000 Tahoe since he bought it new...and the only new cars he wants to look at are PHEVs "so that I get better fuel economy". Anything will be better than the Tahoe, but he only got a smartphone 2 years...

Honestly this is great news. I knew they were busy but I didn’t realize it was “maxed production” busy. I always forget the WRX still exists, I haven’t liked their looks since the hatch went away. Yeah, some cladding, a spoiler, rally blue paint, and literally just a WRX drivetrain and they...

The Crosstrek has been so popular for so long (wife bought one in 2015 and it’s been great) that I’m truly surprised they haven’t made an Sti model. Different wheels, exhaust, spoiler, and I think they’d sell quite a few. I’ve heard Subarus big problem is having enough cash to build new...

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

I remember a lot talk about it but not an actual confirmation… But what I meant to say was, *For the offroad package*. Maybe one of our engineering minded folks could chime in but my understanding was full air strut vehicles (not the airbags like the Aussie use) aren’t conducive to coilover...

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

Also, while you certainly haven’t confirmed anything and I’m sure it’s subject to change, “can handle a lift kit” sounds to me like no air struts à la Rivian.

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

I feel like I recall that 2 years is about the timeline to finalize most engineering so suppliers can get quotes and production rolling and samples tested an all that…but yeah, might be too early.

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

Since my birthday is the 23rd and I’m starting a new, better job, I think they’re going to announce that all forum members have been selected for powertrain testing and are invited to NC to drive mules for 6 months 😉 After putting down the bong…Maybe a finalized drivetrain/chassis. I suspect...

    Test drive options

Yeah that’s what prompted this lol. That and the thought that if I could get her to test drive on my reservation, we might convert to a two-scout family….

    Test drive options

Didn’t see this mentioned elsewhere - the ability to have multiple people test drive for one preorder. The Scout will probably be mine, but it would very helpful to let my perfect beautiful wife get seat time before committing to a purchase. Also, if possible, it would be great to be able to...

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

Imagine when they open the configurator for orders and it has the perfect, most beautiful shade of yellow that @cyure could ask for…just called Peanut Butter.

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

I did, and it’s a great start. But main screen off, not just black, and an option to turn off the instrument cluster display (again, I get that for liability reasons Scout wouldn’t want that off while someone is doing 60) When I’m under 10-20mph in the mountains driving to a campsite under a...

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

One of my long term desires is a complete kill switch for interior lighting - buttons, screens, and all. I can see reactivating the dash with speedometer, etc. over a certain speed threshold for liability, but there has to be an extremely dim option.

Great share! A few quotes I found interesting: “only about 25 EVs catch fire out of every 100,000 sold, versus some 1,500 fires per 100,000 conventional cars” Presumably US numbers. I wonder if there are major safety differences in battery packs sold in US vehicles vs abroad, the way there...
