  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I'm sitting firmly on the fence at the moment. My reservation is for Traveler EREV, but I'm currently leaning BEV. I should probably change my reservation, but I honestly don't think I'll make a decision one way or the other until right up to the moment I order. I don't see incentives like a...

I like it personally. Thanks for sharing. That said, $50k just for the deposit. Guess I'm out 😂

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

Appreciate the reply. My 0 to 100 was more hypothetical for the question than an assumption that it would ever happen. I agree that 25 minutes would hardly add any time once you walk inside, go to the bathroom, and maybe order some food. At Wawa or Buc-ee's, the vehicle would probably be ready...

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

Good post as always. Not being an EV owner, I'd appreciate if you could expand on the charge rate. Let's say I take my BEV Scout on a road trip and I need to charge from 0 to 100% while on the road. Approximately how long would that charge take (at an estimated battery pack size) at 200 or 250...

    Initial Production Release

My reservation is for Harvester, but 5k tow rating is a no go for me. If that number holds, I'll go BEV or purchase a different vehicle all together. I really hope that they publish accurate capability numbers before they decide which model goes first. A lot of reservation holders may change...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I've suggested a shielded box on the outside of the vehicle. Like an old hide a key, but lockable somehow (code wheel, finger print, etc). I used to leave my keys in the trailer hitch of my Grand Cherokee, but I figured out by accident one day that the vehicle would sense the keys and unlock...

    Colors

I just caught up on the AI thread and saw that half of the one I posted was in there. Guess that explains where it came from. Some great colors in that thread. Amazing how these designs look good in just about any color. Speaks highly of the design team.

Some shades of yellow I can understand, but I question your insistence on peanut butter :LOL:

    What’s your hobby

Once upon a time, I would have said golf and surfing. I started golfing when I was 5. Played for my high school and my college. Grew up bodyboarding and then took up surfing in college. For a long time, I would get at least one of those activities in weekly. The reality these days is different...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Do any vehicles offer a top/bottom split air conditioning? I can have my passenger warmer/colder than the driver. In my Pacifica, I can have the rear a different temperature. I would love to drive something where I could have warmer air toward my feet without having to sweat. Or even the same...

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

In the off road world, solid axle would usually equal stronger with more articulation. You can have a solid axle with leaf springs, coil springs, or air suspension. Leafs would give the harshest ride. Depending on the exact set up, coil and air are probably similar for ride quality. Air would...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This article has a good breakdown of the product development added in the contract. Even if they had a better engine for this application, they have agreed to keep the Pentastar around so the consumer will continue to see it for a few more years. For emissions reasons, it probably makes more...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It's the Pentastar because they have to put in in something for the next few years. The contract with UAW signed in 2023 included a provision that the Pentastar would continue to be produced at a specific factory until 2028.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I will most likely select BEV when offered the choice even though I reserved the Harvester and that option was one of the huge selling points to me for 2 reasons: - I do not have gas plumbed to my house and we do lose power a few times a year. A good portion of my neighbors have generators as a...

Package options - what would you like bundled?

Do you have power mirrors? Or do you have to manually adjust them? That would tell you whether there's a power wire run in there. I would doubt it on a Wrangler though as it would complicate going doorless. I know they have the quick connect wires now for the power locks and windows, but mirrors...

What would your last vehicle be if you had to decide today

Thank you much. I bought it when I was 24 (43 now). It was my daily for 10 years and has had fun car status since then. A little over 77k miles. I've gone back and forth with selling it over the years, but my kids are now 10 and 7 and they both love it so it isn't going anywhere.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I really appreciate the in depth reply. I guess simple answer says probably not worth it. I'm only talking about 1-3 trips per year and then the generator could have worked as a backup for the house. That reply also puts in to perspective just how big the batteries in these vehicles are.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I almost tagged him, but figured he'd probably chime in without me having to do so. I used the forum search before posting and the question was only really hit around edges on threads about making the Harvester removable.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I only gave the Lincoln example because it sparked the question in my mind. I was asking more about a Honda or Generac portable. My thinking here would be I put a portable generator and my Jeep on a trailer and tow it to my wheeling spot. The Scout would be parked for the weekend while I wheel...
