What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
These are features that I would like to see added to the Scout Traveler SUV:

• "360-Degree Camera" system. Offer an array of wide-angle cameras and high-resolution 360° views.

• Electrochromic Smart Glass Roof: Adopt a panoramic roof using switchable privacy glass (electrochromic), allowing instant tint or frost at the touch of a button, for privacy and comfort in any light condition.

• AI In-Car Assistant: Integrate an advanced voice assistant that learns preferences over time, actively assists with trip planning, vehicle settings, and real-time diagnostics.

• Provide a built-in Android Auto experience. Ability to read calendars, text messages, music apps, etc.

• Vehicle Location and Security: Geofencing, vehicle locator. Strong Anti-Theft Technology.

• Wi-Fi Hotspot and Streaming: In-car Wi-Fi hotspots (for multiple devices), native streaming apps for video and music, and casting support enhance productivity and entertainment on the go.

• Offer advanced USB-C ports (with high wattage and both data and charging functionality) as a standard feature.

There are 2 features on my daily driver 2001 Sequoia that I love that I couldn't find specifically discussed in this forum.

Armrest:
The door armrest is a natural location to rest your arm with a handle grip perfectly angled for the hand and for those OS moments. The horizontal part of the armrest doesn't have a channel to collect dust and gunk. From some of the Scout interior photos it appears that has some similarities, but I couldn't find a photo with that kind of detail. Also, you would just have to sit inside to get the feel of that arm and hand position which is likely a personal preference.

Rear view mirrors on the door:
The Sequoia motorized mirrors will "knock away", meaning if you bump a tree or object they will fold in, somewhat disconnecting from the motorized mechanism. BUT...If they are folded in from knocking away, they automatically "reset" to the original position when the engine is restarted. On a regular basis, I gently knock away the mirrors when in a tight spot like a parking space or garage or I just forgot to fold the mirrors using a button on the console before exiting the vehicle (they don't auto fold and I like that too so I can watch my surroundings).

Since my Sequoia is old, these features may be more common than I realize, however, I just wanted to include these as convenience features that I take for granted that make it such an enjoyable vehicle. It's those kind of things make me cling on to it for so long.

Here are a couple pictures my husband took at Nats of the Traveler door.

Awesome..thanks @cyure ! This hints to me that the handle will be a bit high for comfort when cruising long distance and the angle appears to be vertical. This won't make me cancel my reservation, but you might see my point about the natural comfort of the Sequoia armrest. From an aesthetic point of view, I love the Scout design, it just doesn't appear naturally comfortable. That may be why my wife constantly reminds me "two hands on the wheel" 😅 :ROFLMAO:

If you haven’t checked out my Nats threads that’s where I put all the pictures he took and I even got some measurements with my iPhone.

Yes. I have followed that thread from the start. The pictures are plentiful and wonderful. I refer back to them frequently. I somehow overlooked the ones you re-posted here. Thanks again to you and your hubby.

Love the thoughts. I will say the electrochromic roof was discussed a bunch at reveal and noted it is just a costly option so likely not going to be an option. It will have a sun shade with it so you will have some options for controlling light levels

Tend to be more common though not all reset. My accord regularly gets hit by the spinning brush in auto car wash (it’s a honda-I don’t spend time handwashing 😀) and it knocks the mirror “closed” then I have to flip it back when I get home

Thanks for the update. I hope they find a way to significantly lower the cost so they can offer this feature. Maybe through their partnerships, they can do so?

A feature that should be added to the Scout Traveler SUV is the Rearview Mirror Dash Cam.
Ok, I was looking for this being mentioned. I was thinking that in this day and age we should be able to have a Review Mirror that is actually a screen with a rear view. I see where you can buy them to add to your vehicle where they strap over your existing mirror. Why not just make the rearview mirror this already?

Recommendation: Voice Notes Integration

Introduce a voice notes feature within Scout Motors vehicles, enabling users to effortlessly capture spoken thoughts and ideas while driving. These recordings should be seamlessly synced to personal devices—specifically Android/iPhone phones and Windows/MAC laptops—for easy access, organization, and reference after each trip.
